कायावरोहण - भाग २ ( 11/12/2021 )

मागील भागात आपण "कायावरोहण" या प्राचीन गावा विषयी माहिती घेतली. आता पुढील भागात "भारतीय पुरातत्व विभाग" यांच्या नियंत्रणात असलेल्या Museum बद्दल माहिती बघु. या Museum मध्ये कायावरोहण व गोरज या दोन्ही गावांमधील पुरातत्व उत्खननात सपदलेल्या विविध प्राचीन मुर्त्यांचा समावेष केला आहे. गोरज हे देखील अतिशय प्राचीन गाव असुन पुरातत्व दृष्ट्या अतिशय महत्व राखुन आहे. या गावात अनेक ठिकाणी विविध प्राचीन अवशेष विखुरलेल्या स्वरुपात आहेत. त्याबद्दल पुढील भागात बघु.

या Museum मध्ये ९-१० व्या शतकातिल मुर्त्या जास्त संख्येत आहेत. एक जैन तिर्थंकरांची मुर्ती ८ व्या शतकातील आहे. मुर्ती पद्मासनात स्थित आहे, तसेच या मुर्तिचे शीर जागेवर नसुन धडापासुन वेगळे झाले आहे. अनेक मुर्ती अशाच भग्न स्वरुपातील आहेत. सगळ्या मुर्ती निट बघितल्यास, काळानुसार झिज न होता, हेतूपुरस्कर हल्ला करुन मुर्ती विद्रुप केल्याचे दिसते. इतक्या सुन्दर, सुबक व सुचक मुर्त्या विद्रुप करण्याचा मानस त्या काळात कोणत्या चांडाळ शासकाने पुर्ण केला असेल हा संशोधनाचा विषय आहे.

कायावरोहण या गावात अजुन एक एतिहासीक वास्तु आहे. त्यास गावातील लोक "तोरण" असे म्हणतात. तोरण म्हणजे दरवाज्याची सुबक कोरलेली कमान. त्या कमानीवर अनेक लहान मुर्ती कोरलेल्या आहेत. त्याचा निश्चित काळ माहित नाही, परंतु ती वास्तु बरीच प्राचीन वाटते. तसेच "तोरण" या वास्तु जवळ एक शिवालय आहे. त्याचे वैशिष्ट्य असे की एकाच मंदीरात अनेक प्रचीन शिवलींग आहेत. या मंदीराच्या परिसरात अनेक प्राचीन अवशेष बेवारस पडुन आहेत.

तसेच, गावात कृपलवानंद स्वामी यांनी लकुलीश महादेवाचे नविन मंदिर स्थापन केले आहे. मंदीर जरी नवीन असले तरी स्थापत्य पुरातन पध्दतीचे आहे. मंदीराच्या कलशावर वेगवेगळ्या पुरातन साहित्यात वर्णन केलेल्या मुर्त्या स्थापित केल्या आहेत. सगळ्यांनी वेळ काढुन "कायावरोहण" या गावातील हे अमुल्य प्राचीन ठेवे बघावेत व तत्कालीन भारतीय वास्तुकलेचा आस्वाद घ्यावा. पुढील भागात भेटु ......

Kayavarohana –Part 2 ( 11/12/2021 )

In the previous part we looked about the ancient village "Kayavarohan". In the next section, we will look at the museum under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India. The museum contains a variety of ancient sculptures found in archaeological excavations in both “Kayavarohan” and “Goraj” villages. Goraj is also a very ancient village and is of great archaeological importance. Various ancient relics are scattered in many places in this village. We will see about that in next days.

The museum has a large number of 9th-10th century statues. An idol of a Jain Tirthankar dates back to the 8th century. The idol is located in Padmasana, and the head of this idol is not in place but separated from the body. Many of the idols are similarly broken. If you look closely at all the idols, it seems that the idols have been disfigured by intentional attack without any wear and tear over time. It is a matter of research as to which Bloody ruler of that time would have fulfilled the intention of disfiguring such beautiful and expressive idols.

Kayavarohan is having another historical remains in this village. The villagers call it as "Toran". A “Toran” is nothing but a beautifully carved arch of a door. There are many small idols carved on that arch. Its exact time is unknown, but it seems to be very ancient. There is also a Shivalaya near the "Toran". Its feature is that there are many ancient Shivlings in one temple. Many ancient relics are lying in the vicinity of this temple.

Also, Kripalvanand Swami has established a new temple of Lakulish Mahadev in the village. Although the temple is new, the architecture is of ancient style. The idols described in various ancient literatures are installed on the kalasha of the temple. Everyone should take the time to visit these invaluable ancient sites in the village of "Kayavarohan" and enjoy the Indian architecture of that time. See you in the next session ......
