"शिकारी बंगला"

अनेक दिवसांपासुन इंटरनेट वर बघुन होतो की महि नदीच्या किनारी एक जुना बंगला "गायकवाड" राजवटीत बांधला गेला होता. फोटो तर सुंदरच दिसतो, परंतु काही वास्तु प्रत्यक्ष बघितल्यावरच त्यांचा लौकिक कळतो. अखेर प्रतीक्षा संपली आणि आम्ही तिथे पोहोचलो. छान छोटंसं गाव आहे, गुगल मॅप मुळे लगेच सापडतं. बंगल्या पर्यंत आपण सहज पोहोचतो. एक watchman काका असतात. असं म्हणतात की "गायकवाड राजवटीत" हा बंगला शिकार करण्यासाठी वापरण्यात येत असे. तसे संदर्भ विविध पुस्तकात मिळतात. गावातील लोकं देखील त्याबद्दल सांगतात.

तेथील स्थानिक लोकांशी बोलल्यावर कळले की या बंगल्याच्या बाजुला घोडे बांधण्यासाठी तबेला होता, तो कालान्तराने पडला. राजे महाराजे इथे शिकारीसाठी आल्यावर मुक्कामी राहत असत, त्या अनुषंगाने इथे सुसज्ज किचन देखील बांधले होते, ते देखील पडले परंतु त्याचे अवशेष अजून आहेत. एक वेगळी खोली फक्त शस्त्रास्त्रांनी भरलेली असे . राजा सोबत एक ब्रिटिश अधिकारी देखील मदतीस व देखरेखीसाठी राहत असे. पूर्वी 2 राजान्च्या भव्य फोटो फ्रेम दोन्ही hall मध्ये लावलेल्या होत्या. त्या नन्तर काढण्यात आल्या. Hall मध्ये आधी त्या काळातील सुरेख सागवानी बान्धणीतले पलङ्ग व टेबल होते. आता तिथे यापैके काहिहि नाही. तरी हा बङ्गला स्वत: चे एतिहासिक महत्व राखून आहे.

बंगल्याचे बांधकाम विट व लाकूड यात केले आहे. वरून प्लास्टर केल्या मुळे, लालसर रंगात Brick wallpaper लावल्यासारखे वाटते. आवश्यक ठिकाणी लाकडावर नक्षीकाम आहे.

बंगल्यात प्रवेश करण्यास 7 दरवाजे असून मुख्य 3 दरवाजास सुशोभित कोरीव लाकाडाच्या कमानी आहेत. एक हॉल भव्य असून वर छतास लाकडी फळ्यांचे POP सदृश structure आहे. बाजुलाच महि नदी वाहत असल्यामुळे तर बङ्गला अजुन जास्त भाव खात होता. पाउस सुरु असतानाच आम्ही तिथे पोहोचल्या मुळे वातावरण धुन्द करणारे होते. त्याच भागात 2 प्राचीन मन्दिरे आहेत, परन्तु वेळे अभावी बघु शकलो नाही, पुढच्या वेळी जाण्याचा प्रयत्न करु व त्याची माहिती तुमच्यासोबत शेअर करु. वेळ मिळाल्यावर नक्की बघायला जा, एखादा रविवार तिथे घालवला तर नक्की तुमच्या अथवणीत राहिल. धन्यावाद.

“Hunting House”

Since many days I was looking on the internet that an old bungalow on the banks of the river “Mahi” was built during the "Gaikwad" rule. The photo looks beautiful, but only when you see some of the old structures in person, you will know their reputation. Finally the wait was over and we were there. It's a nice little village, easy to find on Google Maps. We reached the bungalow easily. A watchman stays there. It is said that during the "Gaikwad rule" this bungalow was used for hunting. Such references are found in various books. Villagers also talk about it.

After talking to the local people, it was known that there was a stable next to this bungalow for tying horses, which fell down over time. Kings Maharaja used to stay here when they used to come for hunting, accordingly a well equipped kitchen was also built here, it also fell down but its remains are still there. A separate room was filled only with weapons. A British officer used to live with the king to assist the king and supervise other things. Earlier, grand photo frames of 2 kings were placed in both the halls. They were later removed. Hall earlier had beautiful teak-framed beds and tables of that period. Now there is none of this. However, this bungalow retains its historical importance.

The construction of the bungalow is done in brick and wood. As it is plastered on top, it looks like brick wallpaper in reddish color. There is carving on the wood wherever necessary.

There are 7 doors to enter the bungalow and the main 3 doors have ornate carved wooden arches. A hall is grand and has a POP-like structure of wooden planks on the ceiling. As the Mahi river was flowing nearby, the bungalow was radiating its own beauty. We reached there when it started raining so the atmosphere was foggy. There are 2 ancient temples in the same area, but could not see due to lack of time, will try to visit next time and will share its information with you. When you have time, definitely go to see it, if you spend a Sunday there, it will definitely stay in your heart. thank you
